Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer “Jagga Jasoos” finally released on this Friday with a below average opening considering the hype created for the movie. The flick was being made for more than three years and it had its share of controversies too, including the most recent one in which Govinda slammed the makers for chopping his part.
The film collected Rs 8.75 crore on its opening day but it is expected to do better in the weekend in view of the fact that it appeals to a lot of kids, as it is a musical movie.
Ranbir’s last film “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” collected Rs 13.30 crore on its first day with Katrina’s last flick “Baar Baar Dekho” earned only Rs 6.81 crore on the opening day.
Jagga Jasoos is the story of a son who is on a mission to find his missing father after he got to know that the news of his father’s death is false and a lady reporter helps him in this mission.
Here a noteworthy thing is that it is the first movie together of Ranbir and Katrina after their break-up. The critics have praised Ranbir for his performance and in fact, some have gone to the extent to calling him the soul of the flick. Katrina is okay and as of reviews, the film has got mixed reviews but mostly negative. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Facebook and gave one-word review of the movie calling it “Unbearable”.
Here’s what he wrote,
This one’s a misadventure.. EPIC DISAPPOINTMENT!
#JaggaJasoos: Ranbir shines in a film that’s a costly, boring and an overstretched experiment.”
