Since the first day, Tubelight hasn’t lived up to the expectations of the makers as well as the audience. Just like the opening day, even the Saturday collections remained stable. On Sunday, a jump was expected and yes, it did happen.
A marginal growth was seen on the 3rd day and it has come as a relief for the makers. People didn’t like the movie because of its poor story and acting and so, hence the collections have been affected. However, on Sunday, things change and a better occupancy was noticed. This paved way for a good first weekend total.
Here’s what Taran Adarsh tweeted about the 3rd day i.e. Sunday collections:
#Tubelight Fri 21.15 cr, Sat 21.17 cr, Sun 22.45 cr. Total: ₹ 64.77 cr. India biz… Eid festivities should boost biz today + tomorrow.

On Sunday, the film earned 22.45 crores and now, the total has reached 64.77 crores. Soon, it will enter the 75 crores club and it’s a good thing.
Once again, the first weekend total is lesser than that of other movies. Have a look at the list;
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 102.60 crores
Sultan – 105.52 crores
Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo – 101.1 crores
As compared to these previous Salman starrers the revenue earned by Tubelight is very low. In spite of being an Eid release, the first weekend figure’s isn’t up to the mark.
