The US Department of Security has warned its citizen to take appropriate measures in keeping high level of vigilance citing reports that terror outfit Islamic State desires to attack “westerners” in India.
The US Embassy has declared a cautionary warning to citizens of its country that ISIS is trying to attack places frequent by westerners in the country.
In its advisory, the US has mentioned that terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba pose a major threat in India.
In August 2014, the US and regional partners commenced military action against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant(ISIL), a designated terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq, an official statement on Wednesday said.
“In response to the airstrikes, ISIL called on supporters to attack foreigners wherever they are. Authorities believe there is an increased likelihood of reprisal attacks against the US, western and coalition partner interests throughout the world, especially in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia.” the US state department said.
“All US citizens are reminded to maintain a high level of vigilance and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness as detailed in the State Department’s Worldwide Caution of September 9, 2016.” The advisory said.
“Past attacks have targeted public places, including some frequented by Westerners, such as luxury and other hotels, trains, train station, markets, cinemas, mosques, and restaurants in large urban areas.” The worldwide advisory, last updated in September, says.
