Demonetization process started 10 months ago, Says Indian PM Narendra Modi in his speech in Goa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on his detractors of the demonetization move, especially the Congress Party, saying those who were involved in the 2g, coal and hundreds of other scams are now standing outside of banks to exchange Rs 4,000 and announced that there are more anti-corruption and anti-black money moves which will come in the coming months.

Overwhelmed by emotions, PM Narendra Modi while addressing the crowd in Goa on Sunday said, that he was voted into power by the people of the country to fight corruption. He also said that he left his family and his home for the nation, and that he wasn’t born to sit on the chair of high-office. He also stressed the need to go cashless and adopt plastic money.

He said that he was ready to face the consequences of his moves as certain forces are “up against me” as their 70 years of loot was now in trouble as a result of demonetization. “I know that forces are up against me, they may not let me live, they may ruin me because their loot of 70 years is in trouble, but I am prepared,” Modi said in the speech which saw him getting emotional a few times.

This was the Prime Minister’s first ever public address in India after the demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupee note.

Speaking on the currency ban which has stunned the nation, the Prime Minister said that it was key step to help the honest citizen of India defeat the menace of black money.

“The government does not want to bother honest people but doesn’t want to spare the dishonest. Bear with me for 50 days. Has India been looted or not? I am not going to stop at this. I will expose the history of corruption of 70 years since Independence.” Modi said.

“If I commit any mistake, I am ready to face any punishment the country will give me. But I promise to deliver a corruption-free India,” PM Modi said.

Attacking the previous government, he blamed them for neglecting the issue of black money.

“If you asked me to defeat the menace of black money, how can I not do it? The previous government was delaying it,” PM said. He said that he was doing this, while keeping the people in light, when he came into power he formed the SIT on blackmoney.
